Another ISC West has come and gone. There’s always a calmness over the office that first day back after a big trade show, but this year that feeling didn’t last very long, because our work has only just begun.
At ISC West this year we had a pretty fun tease: a first look at our next generation product line, AVIDD. AVIDD stands for Aggregated, Video, Intelligent, Decentralized, Data, the result of years of creation and innovation, and it’s a product unlike anything the industry has seen before. We wanted to use the opportunity of ISC West to talk to people first-hand about this exciting new venture. At our booth, visitors got to touch and feel the quality of our first prototype as they heard from our experts what makes this camera so different. Most “new products” unveiled at ISC West are not really new, just a few tweaks done to make it slightly different from what is already out there. AVIDD is a brand new design from the ground up.
During the week of ISC West, we saw and met with hundreds of visitors, some old partners and others were new prospective customers new to the industry, but each one got a sneak peek at AVIDD. We had the opportunity to tell them about how we are looking for 300 industry professionals to test out AVIDD for free, asking for nothing in return except that they provide us with valuable and contextual feedback, so that we can keep getting better together. We want you to come on this journey with us as we prepare to officially introduce AVIDD to the industry and to the world.
You’ve probably heard of kick starter campaigns, they allow people to feel involved and a part of a project, which is great if it’s something you really believe in, but there are always risks involved. They need your money, and there’s no guarantee of it really taking off. Launch AVIDD is different because we’ve been through the de-bugging phase, the prototype phase, and now we want to get it into the hands of system integrator partners installing in the field, as well as the end users who use and depend on the best surveillance technology every day.
To give you an idea of what’s coming next, we have 10 articles planned over the course of the campaign, some of which will include documentary style videos describing our testing procedures, design philosophy and challenges we faced along the way.
